Gary Lyons is currently the senior partner of McFarland, Gould, Lyons, Sullivan & Hogan, P.A., having been an attorney with the Firm since 1981. His practice is primarily focused on corporate and business matters including sales and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and the planning and post-death administration of client’s estates and trusts.
Gary is a native Bostonian and obtained his undergraduate psychology degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts in 1973 and his juris doctor (JD) law degree from Western New England University in 1976. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1979, a State of Florida Certified Arbitrator for the past thirty years and a Florida Bar Fee Dispute Arbitrator. He is licensed to practice in the U.S. Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit and is a longtime member of the Clearwater Bar Association. He has also served two terms on the Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar – Sixth Judicial Circuit.
Gary, as a former high school and college athlete himself, has throughout his long career been a youth coach for baseball, basketball, cross-county and track teams in the local community and for middle school and high school teams. He also served many years as a member and chairman of the City of Largo Park & Recreation Advisory Board, a Director of the West Florida Y Runners Club, a Member of The Morton Plant Financial Counseling Committee and numerous volunteering for local charitable and civic organizations.
